Peanut Butter and Broccoli???!
I’m often asked “Where do you get all your energy?” and I smile and tell them I manufacture it! There is one special secret I can share that is bound to dramatically improve your health, and give you tons more energy. It starts with green vegetables –any way you can get them! I love to load up on them first thing in the morning in my smoothie! My husband loves this to because he knows the health and energy benefits, so makes sure he drinks one… even though it’s green!
This is my special secret recipe for a super-powered super-green morning smoothie (and it’s deeeeelicious!!!!!) Everyone who stays with us gets one in the morning too, and by the end of their stay, they’re hooked! So here I will share the recipe with you:
¼ cup frozen blueberries
¾ large frozen banana
¼ cup frozen spinach
¼ cup frozen broccoli
two leaves fresh green kale
1 teaspoon peanut butter (or almond butter)
1 teaspoon coconut paste
1 teaspoon flax meal (ground flax seeds)
1 scoop protein powder (whey, hemp, other)
1 cup almond milk (be sure it’s the kind without added sugar!!!)
(add a little water if it’s too thick)
You can even add ½ an avocado if you like… especially if you are breastfeeding a baby (like me!) and need the extra fat
